Massage therapy

Massage therapy is hands-on treatment which deals with muscular aches, pains and injuries, and promotes health and relaxation. I use a variety of techniques, ranging from a holistic therapeutic massage style to a deeper, more intense style. This means that the treatment can be adjusted to suit the individual’s requirements.

Holistic Massage: Focuses on relaxing the muscles, improving oxygen levels in the blood by stimulating the circulation, and releasing toxins held in the muscles by improving the lymph flow. It improves overall health and well-being but is specifically good for helping to treat conditions such as: frozen shoulder, sciatica, repetitive strain injury. It can also assist in relieving stress, anxiety, depression, headaches and insomnia. This can either be carried out as a full body massage or be focused on the problem area.

Indian Head Massage: or 'champissage', as it is also known, originated from the ancient Ayurvedic healing system in India where it has been practised for thousands of years. Historically used by women to keep their hair in beautiful condition, it has since been developed as a stress and tension-relieving treatment. Carried out fully clothed and with no oil, this therapy can be given anywhere. It is a deeply relaxing treatment creating a sense of peace, calm and tranquillity.

Please note that some of these treatments cannot be carried out if you suffer from any serious medical condition, have undergone recent surgery, are under the influence of drugs or alcohol or are experiencing any of the following contraindications: high temperature or fever, cancer, very low or very high blood pressure, infectious skin disorders or severe inflammation.

Sessions are available in 30, 60 and 90 minute increments. A 30 minute session is £30, a 60 minute session is £55 and a 90 minute session is £75.
