History & Overview of Abdominal Therapy
Abdominal Therapy with Joanna Anderson is based on the principles and training of The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy.
The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® is founded on an ancient Mayan technique of a non-invasive, external abdominal massage. Abdominal Therapy stimulates circulation and blood flow within the abdominal area, supporting the body for optimal function of digestive and fertile health and wellness. It is a therapy that can be applied throughout every stage of a woman, man or child’s life.
Your Appointment
After conducting a thorough review of your past and present healthcare, Joanna will work with you to address your specific needs and may suggest a course of treatments. Typically, 2 or 3 professional sessions are required to address most conditions. Some conditions will require further attention over a longer period of time. Self Care massage at home is a vital aspect of the overall treatment.
Cautions & Contraindications
Abdominal Therapy is a safe and effective treatment but there are a few contraindications and cautions that have to be screened for before treatment as there are some conditions where application of these techniques is either contraindicated or requires modification.

Book an Appointment
Your first session with Joanna is either split into two appointments: a 60 minute online consultation, followed by a 60 minute in-person treatment. The cost of each is £50 and £65 respectively, totalling £115. You can also book your consultation appointment and treatment in the same session, creating a 2 hour appointment.
Follow up sessions are 60 or 90 minutes long, and cost £65 and £80 respectively.
Online Self Care Massage Demo appointments can be booked independently of in person treatments, and are £50 for approximately 60 minutes.
